Fine edition, published in three volumes. The printing privilege was shared between two printers, François Foppens in Brussel and Anthoine Michiels in Amsterdam. The present copy is the Amsterdam issue. Foppens. Une partie de l’édition porte l’adresse d’Anthoine Michiels à Amsterdam” (Tchemerzine).
This text is based on the 1635 edition, and is sometimes considered to have been printed by the Elzeviers.
This attractive copy is preserved in a fine contemporary armorial binding, attributed to a member of the La Baume family according to the decoration which could either be Pierre II de La Baume, counsellor at the Grenoble Parliament (1653), or Alphonse de La Baume, also counsellor at the Grenoble Parliament (1670). Fine copy, complete with the engraved title by P. Clouwet.
