First French edition, enlarged compared to the original Latin edition This is the first book, published by the polymath Antoine Mizauld (Montluçon, 1510-Paris, 1578). The original Latin language edition, equally published by Chaudière, had the title Meteorologia. The Mirouer de l’air is organised as a manual trying to help to interpret atmospheric an celestial phenomena. Divided into two chapters the book covers meteorites, rain, mist, snow, wind, thunder and lightning, and other subjects. The last section is entirely devoted to earth quakes. Good copy.
