This edition was published shortly after the original of 1649. 

According to the BnF notice, these verses were “composed by Abbé Laurent de Laffemas after the peace of Saint-Germain, after H. Carrier”. 

The dedicatory epistle is signed: “C. M. C. P. D.” In the epistle the author indicates that this work was written in Paris, then taken without his consent to Flanders where it was printed without his authorisation. In order to give impetus to the dissemination of this play, the author remarks that only a few copies were printed and urges readers to buy them quickly, as there may not be any further editions.
