First edition of the collection which contains, in addition to the poem Non vouloir (published individually in 1940, it was the first resistance poem to be published in France), fifty-four untitled poems written by Hugnet between 1940 and 1941.
Limited edition of 426 numbered copies. This is number 80 of 400 printed on vellum.
“Hugnet dedicated the collection to Paul Eluard, who, like Hugnet, was to joins the Resistance in the summer 1942” (Cramer).
The edition is illustrated with four zincographs by Pablo Picasso printed in black: Portrait of Dora Maar; Dancer I; Dancer II; Seated Woman.
