This fundamental treaty, written together with the eminent botanist René Le Berryais (1722-1807) the Traité des Arbres Fruitiers is the most accomplished work in its field and the indispensable tool for garderners, both professional and private. The fine plates, engraved after drawings by Claude Aubriet, successor to Nicolas Robert for the royal collection of the so called “vélins du Museum”, by Madeleine- Françoise Basseporte and Louis- René le Berryais, depict the principal fruit trees, together with the ripe fruit and with the blossoms.
Copy printed on large paper, preserved in a fine contemporary binding. Some quires slightly toned, as well some 4 plates.
