First edition.
Doctoral thesis of the famous physician André Du Laurens (1558-1609), defended in Montpellier where he succeeded Laurent Joubert as Professor of Medicine.
Initially a physician to Marie de Médicis, he went on to become physician and then appointed first physician to King Henri IV. When Jean Hucher died in 1603, Du Laurens was nominated chancellor of the University of Montpellier.
A very rare item, USTC lists only 3 institutional copies, all in Europe (Paris, Bibliothèque nationale de France; Paris, Bibliothèque de Sainte-Geneviève; Saint-Petersburg, Saltykov-Shchedrin Library).
