Second edition, considerably enlarged compared with the first edition of 1759, which consisted of only 131 pages.

This edition contains for the first time the long preliminary note with details on the distinction between the dental surgeon and the barber (‘dentiste chirurgien’ and ‘chirurgien dentiste’), followed by a treatise on the gums (gencives, thermomètre de la santé), then general observations on enamel and the disposition of teeth. It is follow by the 10 chapters as in the original edition, but here corrected, modified and enlarged with more detailed information
