In the first part, Abbé Baudeau sets out the advantages of free trade in grain; in the second, he presents new techniques for grinding grain economically; in the last, he shows that there must always be a certain proportion between the price of wheat and the price of bread. Born in Amboise in 1730, Abbé Baudeau was one of the most ardent supporters of Turgot and physiocratic ideas.
