Fléty, p. 144.
First edition of the offprint limited to 25 copies (first published in the Presse littéraire, year 1853, no. 78). A very fine study by Charles Asselineau on the importance of collecting books and autographs.
Important Provenance
Edmond de Goncourt’s own copy, with his autograph signature in red ink on the flyleaf, and two small reading marks in the margins of pages 5 and 6.
Spine slightly rubbed, else a fine copy with full margins, bound by H.T. Pierson, a master bookbinder of the late nineteenth century particularly appreciated by the Goncourt brothers.
