Polak, 53.
First edition.
member of the Benedictine Order Dom Jacques Alexandre (1653-1734) devoted his entire life to the study of physics and mechanics. His work describes sundials, waterclocks, the movement of planets, large and small scale clocks and watches. The last third of this very interesting work contains what is probably the earliest bibliography about works on time pieces.
Some foxing.
