One of the 15 first copies on large china paper with double suite

Gay-Lemonnyer, III, 983 ; Vicaire, I, 590 ; Monod, 2216.

Copy of the deluxe edition in large format in-8 (there was also the current edition in format in-16).

One of 15 copies on strong chine paper (this one numbered 7), the first large paper, with a triple state of the engravings:

– Eau-forte pure before the letter on japon (the first of which is signed by the artist).

– Final state before the letter on japon.

– Final state (in the text).

This edition of the eight days of the Caquets is part of the Petite Bibliothèque Artistique, donated by Jouaust from 1882. It is published with notes (“it seemed useful to us to give in notes the explanation of certain words and locutions which might not be familiar to all our readers”) and it begins with “the brilliant preface” in which one will find “knowledge and wit”.

A very fine copy despite a small tear to the spine.
