Sabin, 3592.
First edition, signed by the author on the title verso.
The author, who had married a wealthy landowner in Saint-Domingue, became a virulent slaver.
In the second part, he discusses the reunification of the two parts of the island, fiercely opposing it: ‘What use can the Spanish part be?… Let us rather increase the black population by all possible means’ (Introduction).
He retired to Paris where he died in 1810.
