Gay-Lemonnyer, III, 594.
First edition. A charming book, entirely engraved and illustrated with vignettes.
The poetry is either attributed to Alexis Piron or F.A. Paradis de Moncrif. Gay-Lemonnyer erroneously indicates the copy of Madame de Pompadour (sale organized by Quentin-Bauchart in 1881) being dated 1740 (according to the sales catalogue the copy bears the correct date of 1749, like the present one).

[CHEVRIER, François-Antoine]. Estrennes voluptueuses, dédiées aux grâces. Par Madame L.M.D.S. London, no date. 16mo, 64 pp.
Gay-Lemonnyer, II, 186.
Very rare work, with the subtitle : La Jouissance des cinq sens. Poëme en prose. The five senses (vision, hearing, taste, smell, and touch) are described through a series of adventures of the hero, called Égérie. The last part contains the Quatre parties du jour, freely translated from the German original.
Very attractive copy, well preserved in a fine contemporary binding.
